Honestly…

The passengers on the US Airways plane that landed in the Hudson should be grateful THAT THEY ARE ALIVE and not asking for more than $5000. It sucks to lose your clothes, your laptops, your documents and your cute little shoes, but in the long run they’re not important and asking for more money is what’s causing airlines to run red.

How does more money ever restore nerves and compensate for emotional distress?! Should the airlines be sued every time there’s inclement weather or migratory birds?!

  1. Perhaps the airlines should call them on their requests. Instead of giving them more cash, offer them enough psych time to work out their issues to “make them whole.” That should sort out those who really do have issues and those who are being opportunistic to get more money, especially after insurance takes care of their belongings and medical expenses? Tragic as it may have been, the bag values are pretty clearly set with years of precedence: ask anyone who’s had their bag “eaten” by the airline baggage system. :P

  2. At least its better than a voucher for a “roundtrip flight to any destination that USAirways or its affiliates fly”

    snicker.

found this site randomly. Hope you’re well
